DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - BNP candidate Md Rajib Ahsan has been elected unofficially from the Barishal-4 constituency in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Election.
He secured 1,28, 322 votes with Sheaf of Paddy symbol while his nearest rival Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Mohammad Abdul Jabbar bagged 74,684 votes with Scale symbol.
In the referendum, 1,43,900 voters cast 'yes' vote while 64,511 others cast 'no' vote in this constituency.
The results were announced at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon today.
Voting was held from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm across 42,779 polling centres in 299 constituencies nationwide on Thursday.
A total of 12,77,11,793 voters were registered to cast their ballots, including 6,48,25,361 males, 6,28,85,200 females, and 1,232 from the third gender.
