BNP's Mojibur Rahman elected unofficially from Gazipur-1

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Md Mojibur Rahman, candidate of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has been unofficially elected from the Barishal-5 constituency in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, bagging 208688 votes.

According to the unofficial results, his closest rival, Md Shah Alam Bakshi of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami received 149553 votes.

In the same constituency, a total of 261580 voters cast 'yes' votes, while 88991 voted 'no', reflecting notable participation in the referendum process held alongside the parliamentary polls.

The results were announced during a formal briefing at the Referendum and Thirteenth National Parliamentary Election-2026 Results Collection and Presentation Center of the Election Commission. The briefing took place at the Agargaon Election Building in the capital.
