BNP's Abul Khayer Bhuiyan unofficially elected from Lakshmipur-2

DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Md Abul Khayer Bhuiyan, candidate of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has been unofficially elected from the Lakshmipur-2 constituency in the 13th National Parliamentary Election, securing 146321 votes.

According to the unofficial results, his closest rival, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate received 133698 votes.

In the same constituency, a total of 190389 voters cast 'yes' votes, while 74145 voted 'no', reflecting significant participation in the referendum process held alongside the parliamentary polls.

The results were disclosed during a formal briefing at the Referendum and 13th National Parliamentary Election-2026 Results Collection and Presentation Center of the Election Commission. The briefing took place at the Agargaon Election Building in the capital.
