DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - BNP candidate Md Shahdat Hossain has been elected unofficially from Laxmipur-1 constituency in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election.

He bagged 86,811 votes, while his nearest rival Bangladesh Nagorik Party candidate Md Mahbub Alam got 59,265 votes.

In the referendum, 1,01,758 voters cast votes for 'Yes', while 47,996 others cast 'No' votes. 

The result was announced from the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon today.
