DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS)- BNP candidate Fokir Mahbub Anam has clinched victory in the unofficial result of the Tangail-1 constituency in the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election.

He secured 153,932 votes while his nearest rival Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Muhammad Abdullahil Kafi received 94,462 votes.

In the referendum, 160,506 voters cast “Yes” votes, while 92,878 persons voted “No”.

Senior Secretary of the Election Commission Akhtar Ahmed announced the result today at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan Bhaban in the capital’s Agargaon.
