DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate Md 
Monowar Hossain has clinched an unofficial victory in the Magura-1 
constituency of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Election.

He got 1, 85,338 votes while his nearest rival Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami 
candidate Abdul Matin received 89,691 votes.

In the Referendum, 1,54,613 voters cast votes for 'Yes' while 1,14,695 others 
cast 'No' votes.

Akhtar Ahmed, senior secretary of the Election Commission, announced the 
result today at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan 
Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon.
