DHAKA, Feb 13, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP)-nominated 
candidate Ahmed Azam Khan has clinched an unofficial victory in the Tangail-8 
constituency of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Election.

He bagged 1, 14,217 votes while his nearest rival independent candidate 
Salauddin Alamgir received 77,130 votes.

In the referendum, 1,51,337 voters cast votes for 'Yes' while 70,937 others 
cast 'No' votes.

Akhtar Ahmed, senior secretary of the Election Commission, announced the 
result today at the Result Collection and Dissemination Centre at Nirbachan 
Bhaban in the capital's Agargaon.
