DHAKA, Feb 12, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Standing Committee member and Dhaka-8 candidate Mirza Abbas said today that voting in the 13th parliamentary election is proceeding fairly and smoothly.
Speaking to reporters after casting his ballot at the Women's College polling center, he said, "The election is peaceful and going well. Until 12:40 pm, the voting has been good and fair."
He warned against any attempts to manipulate the vote, adding, "Engineered results will not be accepted."
The veteran BNP leader also alleged that there are ongoing efforts to create instability during voting but expressed confidence in the electorate, saying, "Attempts are being made to create chaos, but the people will respond through the ballot."
When asked if he would accept the election results regardless of the outcome, he reiterated, "No engineered results will be accepted."
