
MANIKGANJ, Feb. 12, 2026 (BSS) - Voting for the 13th national parliamentary election and referendum began this morning in a festive and peaceful atmosphere in all three constituencies of the district. Polling started at 7:30 am across the division and will continue uninterrupted until 4:30 pm.
The voters in all the 515 centres in the district are casting their votes in a free and fair atmosphere, standing in the queue with discipline.
A total of 13,20,699 voters are expected to cast their votes in a free, fair and festive atmosphere after a long time.
The Election Commission has taken massive preparations for holding the 13th Parliamentary election.
During the election campaign, no untoward situation happened in the district, the Returning officer also the Deputy Commissioner of Manikganj, Nazmun Ara Sultana, said.
The Superintendent of Police (SP) Muhammad Sarwar Alam is satisfied with the law and order enforcement responsibility. More than 9,600 members of the Army, Navy and Air Force, including Police, BGB, Rab and Ansars, have been deployed in the district to ensure a congenial atmosphere for holding free, fair and participatory elections.
