KHULNA, Feb 12, 2026 (BSS) - Motaleb Mia, an 80-year-old former worker of Khulna Crescent Jute Mill, came to cast his vote along with his ailing wife Fatema Parveen, 68, and daughter Nargis Sultana, 45.

The family, voters of Khulna -3 constituency (Khalishpur-Daulatpur-Arongghata), exercised their franchise at Maulana Bhasani Bidyapeeth Girls' School and College polling centre.

After casting his vote, Motaleb Mia said age and illness have taken a toll on him and this might be the last time he can exercise his vote.

"I am old now and suffering from various diseases. This may be my last vote in life. I may not live another five years. I feel very happy to have cast my vote," he said.

His wife, Fatema Parveen, said she has poor eyesight and therefore came to the centre with their daughter.

"I cannot see well, so I came with my daughter. We all have cast our votes," she added.
