CEC calls upon voters to exercise their rights freely

DHAKA, Feb 11, 2026 (BSS)- Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) AMM Nasir Uddin has called upon the voters to cast their votes freely.

He made this call in a televised address to the nation this evening ahead of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election and Referendum 2026 tomorrow.

State-run Bangladesh Television (BTV) broadcast the CEC’s speech live. 
In his address, the CEC highlighted the overall preparations taken for the election and the expectations of the commission.

Describing voting not only as a civic right but as a responsibility, the CEC expressed hope that voters across the country would consciously fulfill this duty.
 
Calling upon political parties, candidates, and voters to maintain a peaceful and cordial environment, he said, “Differences of opinion are a natural part of the democratic process.” 

He requested voters to come to polling centers in a festive mood and cast their vote for the candidate of their choice.

Regarding acceptance of election results, he said that as a natural outcome of the democratic process, victory and defeat must be accepted by all in a normal manner. 
He called upon the officials related to the election to make this election a success, disregarding personal hardship or limitations.

Mentioning that the EC is committed to ensuring peaceful voting, the CEC said that election officials, judicial officers and law enforcement agencies are active in the field to avert any untoward situation. 

The CEC expressed hope that through the collective efforts of all, the people of the country would witness a beautiful and peaceful election.

The polling will be held simultaneously from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm across the country tomorrow without any break.
