DHAKA, Feb 11, 2026 (BSS) - BNP has called upon all democratic political parties to ensure an environment conducive to peaceful elections and to reject violence.
The party stated that it is the responsibility of every political party to realize the current popular aspiration for a festive and spontaneous election atmosphere, by preventing all forms of rigging and fraud while maintaining mutual coexistence and harmony.
Mahdi Amin, spokesperson for the party's central election steering committee and an adviser to the BNP chairman, made these remarks on behalf of the party during a press conference held this afternoon at the BNP election office in Gulshan in the city.
Mahdi Amin said, "On behalf of BNP, we call upon all democratic political parties- let's ensure an environment of peaceful elections, not violence."
"This election is not just about the right to vote; this election is a struggle to establish the rights and freedom of every citizen of the country. This election represents the resolve to build the Bangladesh envisioned by the mothers of every martyred and forcibly disappeared child. This election is a symbol of protecting the country's independence and sovereignty," he added.
Mahdi Amin further said, "We believe that tomorrow, through an election, founded on positive, people-oriented, and engaging politics, not on negative politics, state ownership will be returned to the people, Insha'Allah. We call upon every citizen of Bangladesh, come to the polling stations as early as possible tomorrow morning. Let the victory in this election be Bangladesh's victory; let the victory in this election be the victory of the people of Bangladesh."
Addressing members of state institutions, Mahdi Amin said, "We respectfully call upon every member of state institutions involved in election management and upon all pro-democracy citizens: stand by the country and its people, stand for the establishment of democracy and voting rights. A free, fair, and credible election alone will ensure the unity of the people and establish the people's ownership of the state."
