DHAKA, Feb 11, 2026 (BSS) - The Election Commission (EC) has called on voters to exercise their right to vote without fear, urging them not to be misled by rumors and propaganda circulating on social media and other platforms.

In a press release issued Wednesday evening, EC Public Relations Director Md. Ruhul Amin Mallick said that a group has been spreading false information to discourage voters from going to polling stations for the referendum and the 13th national election.

The commission clarified that voting will take place from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm tomorrow in 299 parliamentary constituencies across the country, excluding Sherpur-3.

The EC assured that all necessary measures have been taken to ensure a safe and peaceful voting environment.

Law enforcement agencies remain on alert to maintain security at polling centers nationwide.

Reiterating its commitment to holding free and fair elections, the Election Commission urged voters to disregard any rumors or propaganda and to participate in the democratic process confidently and fearlessly.
