KHULNA, Feb 11, 2026 (BSS) – Commissioner of Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Mohammad ZahidulHasan has said that strict surveillance would be ensured at every polling centre through the use of CCTV cameras and body-worn cameras during tomorrow’s voting.
“Alongside the police, members of the Army, Navy, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Ansar will remain actively deployed in the field, “ he told at a briefing parade held at the Khulna Metropolitan Police (KMP) Police Lines ground in Boyra area on Wednesday to ensure the peaceful, free and fair conduct of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election and Referendum-2026
Khulna Metropolitan Police Commissioner said that after 54 years of independence, Bangladesh police is going to witness a historic election.

Referring to the massive influx of people seen recently at railway stations and highways as reported by various media outlets, he said it clearly reflects the strong public enthusiasm to exercise the voting rights.
“Just as people return home during Eid, millions are reaching their respective homes ahead of this election to cast their votes,” he added.
He described this movement as a reflection of public confidence that they would be able to vote without hindrance, stressing that maintaining this trust is the primary responsibility of law enforcement agencies.
Assuring direct support from the field in case of any emergency, the commissioner said that leveraging the cooperative attitude among contesting candidates in Khulna metropolis, the authorities are committed to ensuring a festive, safe and secure voting environment for the general public.
Among others, Additional Police Commissioner (recently promoted to the rank of DIG) Abu Raihan Muhammad Saleh, Additional Police Commissioners Mohammad Rashidul Islam Khan and Muhammad Shahnewaz Khaled, senior officials and police members of various ranks were present at the event.
