Preparations completed for JS polls in Manikganj

MANIKGANJ, Feb 11, 2026 (BSS) - All necessary preparations have been completed to hold the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election in the three constituencies of Manikganj district.

A total of 13,20,699 voters are expected to cast their ballots at 2,614 booths set up in 515 polling centres across the district, officials said.

Of the total centres, 179 with 919 booths are in Manikganj-1 constituency, 185 centres with 898 booths in Manikganj-2, and 151 centres with 797 booths in Manikganj-3.

District election office sources said 515 presiding officers, 2,614 assistant presiding officers and 5,228 polling officers have been appointed to conduct the election. All election officials have received necessary training to ensure smooth voting.

In Manikganj-1 constituency, a total of 4,57,284 voters will exercise their franchise. Of them, 2,27,962 are male, 2,29,318 female and four are third gender voters.

In Manikganj-2 constituency, the number of voters stands at 4,67,497, including 2,32,821 male, 2,34,672 female and four third gender voters.

Manikganj-3 constituency has 3,95,918 voters, of whom 1,95,994 are male, 1,99,923 female and one is a third gender voter.

Adequate numbers of law enforcement personnel have been deployed at all polling centres to ensure a free, fair and peaceful election.

Superintendent of Police Muhammad Sarwar Alam said around 9,600 members of law enforcement agencies, including Police, BGB, RAB, Ansar, as well as members of the Armed Forces, have been deployed in the district.

All 515 polling centres have been brought under CCTV surveillance, while special security measures have been taken at 67 identified important centres, he added.

"We are hopeful of holding a free, fair and historic election for the people," the SP said.
