NARSINGDI, Feb 11, 2026 (BSS) - Election materials and ballot papers for the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election have been dispatched to 663 polling centres in five constituencies of Narsingdi district amid enthusiasm among election officials.
From 10am on Wednesday, presiding and polling officers, accompanied by members of law enforcement agencies, began collecting ballot boxes, ballot papers and other necessary materials from the offices of assistant returning officers in six upazilas.
District Returning Officer and Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Anwar Hossain said enhanced security arrangements have been taken at 393 of the 663 polling centres to ensure peaceful voting. Of these, 250 centres have been identified as highly vulnerable.
He said CCTV cameras and multi-layered security measures have been installed at the vulnerable centres to prevent any untoward incidents.
According to the district administration, there are 1,971,237 registered voters in five municipalities and 71 unions under the five constituencies. The electorate includes 1,003,004 male voters, 970,987 female voters and 36 third-gender voters.
A total of 41 candidates are contesting in the five constituencies.
