DHAKA, Feb 10, 2026 (BSS) – Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) Director General Major General Mohammad Ashrafuzzaman Siddiqui today asked the force members to take a strict and firm stance so that no miscreant or evil-doer can obstruct the 13the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) polls and referendum on February 12.
The BGB DG also directed every member of the force to maintain utmost professionalism, integrity and impartiality in performing their election duties, said a release of the para-military BGB.
He came up with the directives in Faridpur and Munshiganj today as part of his countrywide monitoring the overall law and order and security situation ahead of the polls.
The BGB DG visited the BGB election base camps set up at Faridpur Agricultural Training Institute under Faridpur-3 parliamentary constituency and Srinagar Beltoli G. J. High School under Munshiganj-1 parliamentary constituency this afternoon.
During the visits, he exchanged views with all levels of BGB officers and other rank-and-file members on duty at the base camp.
The BGB DG ordered to conduct maximum number of patrol activities so that voters can exercise their voting rights in a safe, peaceful and fear-free atmosphere.
Earlier, the Home Affairs Adviser and the BGB DG joined a meeting on law and order organized on the occasion of the 13th general polls at Faridpur Deputy Commissioner's office.
Apart from keeping the country’s 4,427-kilometer-long border completely secure, over 37,000 BGB members have been deployed in 489 out of 495 upazilas across the country.
The BGB will perform election duty alone in 61 border upazilas. Besides, considering the risk, BGB will be deployed as a mobile and static force in 300 parliamentary constituencies of the country.
Arrangements have also been made to use BGB helicopters, Quick Response Force (QRF), Rapid Action Team (RAT), specialized K-9 Dog Squad Unit, drones and body-on cameras to deal with any emergency situation during the election, said the release.
