A large number of people lost their lives in the July movement and many were disabled, he said, adding that the main responsibility now is to protect the democratic environment that has been created in exchange for their sacrifices and to build a safe state.
Regarding the security of women, the BNP chairman said to ensure the security of women, it is important to make them economically self-reliant.
For this purpose, he said, the BNP has adopted plan to launch ‘family card’ for housewives and similarly, 'agricultural card' for farmers to provide government assistance directly to them.
