Ballot papers handed over in six Khulna constituencies

KHULNA, Feb 9, 2026 (BSS)- Ballot papers for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary election and the 2026 referendum were handed over today to the concerned election officials in Khulna.

According to treasury sources, ballot papers for six constituencies covering nine upazilas of Khulna district and the Khulna Metropolitan area were distributed from the Treasury Branch of the Khulna Deputy Commissioner's Office to the designated officials after completion of all verification processes.

Earlier, ballot boxes were handed over on February 7 following necessary checks.

Talking to BSS, Khulna District Election Officer Md Sohel Samad said ballot papers for a total of 148 polling centres-both for the parliamentary election and the referendum-were delivered to the offices of all government returning officers today.

He added that all election materials would reach the respective polling centres by February 11. On February 12, officials from different upazilas of Khulna will collect the ballot papers from the district administration's treasury in preparation for the polls.

During the distribution process, foreign election observers from the European Union and Sri Lanka visited the treasury as part of their observation activities, he said.

Khulna Returning Officer and District Magistrate (DC) A S M Jamshed Khondokar said overall election preparations are being carried out properly through coordinated efforts of all concerned departments, including law enforcement agencies, to ensure a free, fair and neutral election.
