BARGUNA, Feb 8, 2026 (BSS) - BNP-nominated candidate for Barguna-1 constituency Md. Nazrul Islam Molla today expressed confidence that the party will reclaim state power through a decisive public mandate.
"The national pulse indicates a profound desire for change, with the 'Sheaf of Paddy' emerging as the definitive symbol of that transition," Nazrul Islam told an election rally at the Taltali Municipality grounds.
Addressing a series of rallies in Amtali and Taltali, Nazrul emphasized a departure from confrontational politics, asserting that the BNP envisions a governance model rooted in reconciliation rather than vengeance.
"Our struggle is not against individual political workers, but for the restoration of democratic values," he remarked, adding that a BNP administration would prioritize legal reviews for politically motivated cases.
The candidate also reached out to the minority Hindu community, guaranteeing a secure and harmonious environment under BNP leadership. "We are committed to an inclusive Bangladesh where every citizen, regardless of faith, can coexist in peace and dignity," he added.
The rallies saw a significant turnout of party stalwarts and locals, including Kabir Talukder, son of the late lawmaker Matiar Rahman Talukder.
