KHULNA, Feb 8, 2026 (BSS) – BNP-nominated candidate for Khulna-2 constituency and former Member of Parliament Nazrul Islam Manju said the nation has high expectations from the upcoming election following the July Uprising.

He expressed hope that through this election, a people’s government would be established in a fascism-free Bangladesh and the national parliament would become functional once again.

He made the remarks this morning while conducting a door-to-door campaign and distributing leaflets in Sheikhpara Bazar, Lohapatty, and adjacent areas of the district.

At around 10:30 am, Manju addressed a courtyard meeting organised by the Ward Election Committee at Joragate as the chief guest.

Later, at 11:30 am, he continued his campaign in the Khulna Boro Bazar area, distributing leaflets and greeting local businessmen.

He expressed confidence that voters would once again support the BNP’s electoral symbol, the sheaf of paddy, making the upcoming election a “vote revolution.”

Among others present during the campaign were Jafarullah Khan Sacchu, Professor Arifuzzaman Apu, Asaduzzaman Murad, Iqbal Hossain Khokon, Hasanur Rashid Miraj, Mohibuzzaman Kachi, Ekramul Haque Helal, Mahbub Hasan, along with leaders and activists of BNP and its affiliated organisations.
