Fakhrul seeks votes for ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ for development

THAKURGAON, Feb 8, 2026 (BSS) – BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today called upon the voters to cast their votes for ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol for the development of Thakurgaon as well as the entire country.

“Our leader Tarique Rahman has pledged that if we are elected, first of all, family cards will be issued to five million mothers. Farmer’s cards will be issued for farmers, through which they will receive fertilizer, seeds and water at fair prices,” he said.

He said this while addressing a roadside rally this afternoon in Jagannathpur Union of Thakurgaon Sadar Upazila of his constituency.

BNP secretary general also sought vote for “yes” vote in the referendum for ensuring reform.

Mirza Fakhrul said if BNP is voted to power, agricultural loans of farmers up to Tk 10,000, including interest, will be waived, and the loans that mothers have taken from various NGOs will also be let off.

Within one and a half years, employment will be arranged for one crore unemployed people, he said.

Addressing the Hindu community, he said, “There is no such thing as a minority. We are all citizens of this country. Stand up for your own rights yourselves. BNP stood by you in the past and will continue to stand by you in the future.”

Leaders and activists of BNP from various levels were present at the event.
