DINAJPUR, Feb 7, 2026 (BSS)- BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman today seeks votes
for the 'Sheaf of Paddy' (Dhaner Shish) from the voters of the district as a
grandson of the area.

He said, "I am a grandson of Dinajpur, I'm coming to my maternal home after
many years but you didn't even feed me anything. So you must give me one
thing. You must vote for the Sheaf of Paddy for me."

Tarique Rahman made the request at a public rally held at the Birampur
Government College ground in Dinajpur this afternoon.

Mentioning his various plans centering the area, the BNP Chairman said, "We
want to gradually build industries related to agriculture in the area. For
example, this area's lychees are famous. But we could export these lychees
abroad by processing those in perfect ways, however, that hasn't been
possible yet."

"If we form a government, we want to take steps so that we can send
Dinajpur's lychees abroad, store them properly in cold storage. We want to
reach 'Kataribhog' rice to every corner of the world through export," he
added.

Emphasizing enhancing the skills of the youth, Tarique Rahman said, "There
are many young men, youth, and members of the youth society in this area who
have the light of education but they don't have employment. We want to create
various vocational and training institutes in this area, through which we
want to train the boys and girls of this area in various subjects."

"Many people in the region have taken small loans from various registered
NGOs to run their households and lives. We also want to repay these micro-
loans from the government's side, we don't want the people of our area to
bear the burden of these micro-loans."

The BNP Chairman urged to build the country for which the freedom fighters
sacrificed their lives in 1971. "The July fighters sacrificed their lives for
democracy and we have struggled to reclaim it," he added.

He said, "The path to reclaiming democracy has gradually appeared before us.
Now, after establishing democracy, our next task will be to rebuild this
country."

Tarique Rahman introduced the BNP-nominated candidates for Dinajpur's four
constituencies present. The BNP Chairman sought votes for them and other
candidates of 'Sheaf of Paddy'.

The event was presided over by District BNP President Mofazzal Hossain Dulal
while its General Secretary Bakhtiar Ahmed Kochi moderated it.

Candidate for Dinajpur-6 constituency and BNP Standing Committee Member Dr
AZM Zahid Hossain along with parliamentary candidates for six constituencies
and party leaders from central and district levels took part in the rally.
