RANGPUR, Feb 7, 2026 (BSS) – With only four days left for the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election, BNP’s candidate for Rangpur-3 seat Md Shamsuzzaman Samu is spending busy time participating in extensive public outreach, street rallies and yard meetings.
Samu is extremely confident of winning the race following mass public response and getting a huge support from the people from all walks of life. As a result, his election campaign is progressing satisfactorily every day.
He is touring 24 wards under Rangpur City Corporation and five unions of Sadar Upazila in the Rangpur-3 (Sadar and part of Rangpur City) with leaders, activists and supporters of BNP and its affiliated organisations.
During his electioneering tours and mass public contacts, Samu is participating in street rallies, yard meetings and exchanging views with the Sanatan Hindu community people, indigenous people, and various social, sports and religious gatherings.
He has already held dozens of mass contacts in 24 wards of Rangpur City Corporation under the Kotwali, Hazirhat, Tajhat and Mahiganj police stations of Rangpur Metropolitan Police and has spoken at street rallies and yard meetings.
He has visited various wards, neighborhoods and yards of Mominpur, Khulia, Chandanpat and Saddyapuskorini and Haridebpur unions of Sadar upazila outside Rangpur city and has participated in mass contacts several times.
He has participated in various social, sports, cultural and religious programmes including street rallies and yard meetings and has spoken seeking vote for the most popular ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol everywhere.
Wherever he goes, the general public, regardless of party affiliation, caste, creed and religion, welcomes him cordially.
A large turnout of party leaders and activists, including the general public, has been observed in every such event.
People of different religions, including Muslims, Hindus, and indigenous people, have participated regardless of party affiliation.
They are responding to Shamsuzzaman Samu for the development of the long-neglected Rangpur Sadar-3 constituency, which has been lagging behind for ages.
Today, Samu held a huge election rally at Mahiganj Amtola Mour in Ward No 29 of Rangpur city, an exchange of views with motor workers at the Check Post in Ward No 17 and a courtyard meeting in Rampura area of the city.
Earlier, he held a public meeting in the City Market area of the metropolis.
After that, he participated in public meetings, courtyard meetings, and religious programmes in various areas of Mominpur, Haridebpur and Kholeya unions under Sadar upazila.
Earlier, on Friday, he addressed a street rally on Purbo Shalbon Mayamoyi Road in Ward No 25 of Rangpur city.
On the same day, he held an election rally at Ward No 22 and offered Juma prayers at the Babukha Jame Mosque there and exchanged greetings with the Muslims and the locals.
Besides, he held two separate courtyard meetings in Tantipara of Ward No 24 and a public meeting in Shahipara.
In the afternoon, he participated in courtyard meetings at Keranirhat Residential School Ground of Ward No 10 and Nazirerhat of Ward No 12, Jummapara Alhera Ground of Ward No 23 and Sheikhpara Ground of Ward No 31 in the city.
Then at night, he participated in a courtyard meeting and night cricket tournament in Munshipara area of Ward No 18.
In addition to party leaders and activists, great interest and enthusiasm have been observed among the general public and young generations in these programmes in those areas.
Besides, the party leaders and activists have conducted extensive campaigns in favor of ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol in different areas of 24 wards of Rangpur City Corporation and five unions of Sadar upazila.
They are exchanging greetings with voters and seeking votes with the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol.
Talking to BSS this evening at an election rally, Ward No 18 BNP organising secretary Shafiqul Islam Shafi said that one party has ruled and exploited Rangpur and have not done any development in the area.
Only the leaders and activists of that party have developed. They have committed huge corruption. They have cheated the people by taking the people's votes.
“So, we hope that the people of Rangpur are in favor of development this time. The people of all classes and professions will vote for Samu with the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol for the sake of development to make him the winner by a huge margin,” he added.
Rangpur-3 constituency BNP candidate Shamsuzzaman Samu said that the people of Rangpur, who have been neglected for a long time, want change this time. They will vote with the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol for the sake of development.
“If the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol wins in Rangpur-3 constituency this time, BNP will end the long-standing development deprivation,” he said, adding that he has already prepared a 19-point manifesto to build a prosperous Rangpur.
The other seven candidates contesting in Rangpur-3 constituency are: Jatiya Party’s GM Quader (Plough), Jamaat-e-Islami's Mahabubur Rahman Belal (Daripalla), Islami Andolon’s Amiruzzaman Piyal (Hand fan), Bangladesh Socialist Party’s Abdul Quddus (Ladder), Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (Marxist)'s Anwar Hossain Bablu (Scissors), independent candidate Reita Rahman (sunflower) and third gender independent candidate Anwara Islam Rani (Deer).
