CHATTOGRAM, Feb 07, 2026 (BSS)- Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer for the 13th National Parliament Election in Chattogram, Mohammad Zahidul Islam Miah emphasized the importance of polling officials reflecting on their responsibilities and the impact on future generations before carrying out their duties at the polling station.

He stated that their behavior during the election would shape the future of Bangladesh.
 
Zahidul Islam Miah made these remarks during a view-sharing meeting following the training session for polling officials conducted by the Anwara Upazila Administration of Chattogram this afternoon.

The Deputy Commissioner emphasized that Bangladesh's election process is under close international scrutiny. He asked for addressing recurring complaints and restore public trust.

Emphasizing discipline and security for the upcoming election, he warned that any disruptions on Election Day will not be tolerated, and troublemakers will face immediate legal consequences.
 
Zahidul Islam Miah highlighted the significance of the 2026 election, urging neutrality and responsibility to honor the sacrifices of martyrs and prevent future bloodshed.
 
Chattogram District Police Superintendent Mohammad Nazir Ahmed Khan, BGB Lieutenant Colonel Moazzem Hossain Sarkar, and Bangladesh Army Lieutenant Colonel Mohammad Ishtiaq Alam Khan. The exchange of views was chaired by Upazila Executive Officer and Assistant Returning Officer Tahmina Akhter also addressed the function.
 
Senior District Election Officer Mohammad Bashir Ahmed, Deputy Director of the Local Government Department Golam Mainuddin Hasan, Ansar and VDP District Commandant Mohammad Mostaq Ahmed, and senior officials from the administration and law enforcement agencies were present.
