RANGPUR, Feb 6, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Ansar and Village Defense Party (Ansar-VDP) Director General Major General Abdul Motaleb Sajjad Mahmud has 
directed the force's members to perform duties with utmost professionalism and discipline to keep the elections orderly, neutral and peaceful. 
 
"For the first time, qualified and trained Ansar-VDP members have been deployed for election duty through database-based verification and 
selection," he said while virtually addressing the Ansar and VDP election preparatory rally as the chief guest.

The Ansar-VDP election preparatory rally was held at Rangpur Stadium on Friday to ensure free, fair and peaceful elections ahead of the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election and Referendum-2026. 

In his speech, the Ansar-VDP Director General said that more than 560,000 Ansar and VDP members will be serving their duties across the country in the elections to be held on February 12. 
 
He instructed the Ansar-VDP members to quickly report any undesirable situation during the performance of duties through the 'Election Security 
App'. 
 
He also informed that Ansar-VDP has made all-out preparations to ensure an acceptable and peaceful election through the use of modern technology and transparent preparations.
 
Around 11,000 Ansar-VDP members from Rangpur district participated in the rally live. 

The rally was broadcast live through joint screens in Rangpur, Dinajpur and Nilphamari districts from where Ansar-VDP members joined virtually.

Range Commander of the Rangpur Range of Ansar-VDP and Deputy Director General Mohammad Abdul Awal, Director Shafiqul Alam, District Commandant Rashedul 
Islam, Upazila Ansar-VDP officers, Upazila Trainers, Battalion Ansar, union party leaders, VDP members and media personnel were present at the event.
