DHAKA, Feb 6, 2026 (BSS) - The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has vowed to implement nine major pledges if it comes to power through the upcoming 13th parliamentary elections as the party unveiled its election manifesto today.

The manifesto has been divided into five sections, highlighting a total of 51 priority points that outline the party’s plan for the next five years.

BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman formally unveiled the manifesto at a city hotel. Tarique Rahman is leading the party in the upcoming election, and this is his first manifesto.

The party has expressed its determination in its manifesto under the pledge “We will work, we will build the nation”.

Nine key electoral pledges:
To protect marginal and low-income families, a “Family Card” will be introduced to ensure the provision of Taka 2,500 per month or essential commodities of equivalent value. The amount of this financial support will be increased gradually.

To ensure fair prices for farmers’ crops, subsidies, easy loans, and agricultural insurance, strengthened state-managed marketing will be provided through a “Farmer Card.” Fishermen, livestock farmers, and small entrepreneurs in the agricultural sector will also receive these benefits.

To build a corruption-free and humane healthcare system, 100,000 healthcare workers will be recruited nationwide, quality treatment will be ensured at district and metropolitan levels, comprehensive maternal and child healthcare will be provided, and preventive healthcare programs will be expanded.

To establish a joyful and employment-oriented education system, a skills- and values-based education policy will be formulated, primary education will receive maximum priority, teachers and students will be provided with technological support, and a “mid-day meal” program will be introduced.

To secure the future of the youth, initiatives will be taken to create employment, enhance technical and language skills, support startups and entrepreneurs, connect with global e-commerce platforms, and ensure merit-based recruitment in government jobs.

To develop sports as a profession and a means of livelihood, sports infrastructure and training facilities will be expanded at the district and upazila levels.

To strengthen environmental protection and climate resilience, 20,000 kilometers of rivers and canals will be excavated and re-excavated, 25 crore trees will be planted within five years, and a modern waste management system will be introduced through voluntary labor and active participation of patriotic citizens.

To reinforce religious and social harmony, a welfare system based on honorariums and training will be introduced for religious leaders of all places of worship.

To expand the digital economy and global connectivity, the international payment system (PayPal) will be launched, regional e-commerce hubs will be established, and exports of “Made in Bangladesh” products will be expanded.

The BNP stated that this manifesto is not merely an electoral promise; rather, it is a declaration of a new social and state contract. The party believes in politics based on justice and humanity, not revenge.

Power is not the center of its politics—people’s rights are. The state will be run on the principles of production over plunder, rights over fear, and justice over discrimination.

If entrusted with responsibility through the people’s mandate, the BNP pledges to build a Bangladesh where the sanctity of votes is upheld, terrorism, corruption, and discrimination are eliminated, no one remains above the law, and every citizen can proudly say—Bangladesh First.

Three Fundamental Pillars of the Manifesto:
The BNP’s politics is fundamentally based on the continuity of the 19-point state philosophy of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia’s Vision 2030, and the 31-point state reform agenda announced by party Chairman Tarique Rahman.

The party emphasized that its politics is not slogan-based but rooted in specific and actionable plans.

Guided by the philosophy of “Bangladesh First,” this far-sighted and comprehensive social plan aims to ensure employment, good governance, healthcare, education, sports, balanced development, climate change adaptation, rule of law, and social and food security, leading the country toward genuine development, Insha’Allah.

In this context, in line with Chairman Tarique Rahman’s declaration “We have a plan,” the BNP aims to build a humane, inclusive, and accountable state.

Earlier, at 3:30 pm, the manifesto unveiling ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran. Special prayers were offered for Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman, former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, Ziaur Rahman’s younger son Arafat Rahman Koko, BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, party leaders and activists martyred in past movements, and the martyrs of the July mass uprising. This was followed by the rendition of the national anthem.

BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir chaired the event which was conducted by Nazrul Islam Khan, Chairman of the BNP Election Steering Committee.

BNP Standing Committee members Mirza Abbas, Gayeshwar Chandra Roy, Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan and Selima Rahman, Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi Ahmed, Chairman’s Advisers Ismail Zabiullah and Dr. Mahdi Amin, Media Cell members Atikur Rahman Rumon and Shairul Kabir Khan were present, among others.
