DHAKA, Feb 6, 2026 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) Convener Nahid Islam today said that the people of the country now want change, calling for a Bangladesh based on reform and justice.

"They want a Bangladesh of reform and justice. After August 5, they do not want to see any new extortionists, corrupt elements or oppressors," he told an election rally at the Matri Bagan Mosque ground in Savar Municipality this afternoon.

Nahid Islam said that if the alliance can form the government, it would implement the reform process and free Bangladesh from domination and fascism.

He urged the people to vote for the 11-party alliance in the upcoming national elections scheduled for February 12.

He further said, "If loan defaulters, extortionists and oppressors are elected again and go to parliament, there will be no change in the country. This is not why people shed blood in the mass uprising."

NCP Convener Nahid Islam said, "Bangladesh will be governed from Dhaka, but the country will be controlled by the people."

Among others, 11-party alliance-nominated NCP candidate for Dhaka-19 constituency Dilshana Parul, Dhaka district Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Delwar Hossain, Secretary General Afzal Hossain, Savar Thana NCP Convener Julkar Nain, and other leaders of the 11-party alliance were present at the rally.
