JHALAKATHI, Feb 5, 2026 (BSS) - Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Dr. Shafiqur Rahman is set to visit Jhalakathi on Friday to take part in an election rally.
He is scheduled to address the gathering as the chief guest at 2:00 pm at the Jhalakathi Government High School ground.
Senior leaders of the district Jamaat-e-Islami inspected the rally venue today.
Speaking after the inspection, Jhalakathi district Jamaat Ameer Advocate Hafizur Rahman said the visit is intended to formally introduce the party's 'Daripalla' symbol candidates for the district's two parliamentary constituencies ahead of the forthcoming national election.
He said the rally would convey a strong message supporting people's rights and justice-based politics.
Advocate Hafizur Rahman added that the party expects over 50,000 participants, including supporters from neighboring upazilas and adjoining districts.
He also noted that organisational arrangements, including publicity campaigns and volunteer deployment, are underway to ensure a disciplined and orderly programme.
Dr. Shafiqur Rahman last visited Jhalakathi on March 17 last year.
