DHAKA, Feb 5, 2026 (BSS)- The Election Commission (EC) has said that the 
postal ballots will be counted simultaneously with the regular votes after 
4:30 pm on the election day (February 12).

Salim Ahmad Khan, team leader of the 'OCV-SDI' project on expatriate voter 
registration, disclosed this information today in a message from the EC.

The message stated that in response to various misleading propaganda 
circulating on social media regarding postal voting results, it is being 
clarified that postal ballot papers will be counted at the same time as the 
regular vote counting after 4:30 pm on the election day. 

There is no scope to know the election results before the specified time, it 
added.

The Commission has especially urged the public not to be misled by any kind 
of false propaganda in this regard.
