DHAKA, Feb 5, 2026 (BSS) - Chief of Air Staff of Bangladesh Air Force (BAF)
Air Chief Marshal Hasan Mahmood Khan has directed the Air Force's personnel
to maintain the highest professionalism to ensure the upcoming 13th Jatiya
Sangsad (JS) Election and Referendum in a free, fair and impartial manner.
He came up with the directives at BAF Base Bashar in Dhaka Cantonment today
while addressing the BAF personnel deployed at the field-level centering the
JS polls and referendum, slated for February 12 next, said a release of the
Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate here.
During the meeting, the BAF chief attached utmost importance to following and
implementing the instructions and 'electoral code of conduct' issued by the
Ministry of Home Affairs and the Election Commission (EC).
He hoped that all personnel of the Air Force deployed at various levels would
perform their assignments with the utmost professionalism to holding a
successful free and fair election.
The Air Chief said as many as 3,730 members of the Bangladesh Air Force will
be deployed under the 'In Aid to Civil Power' and 1,250 members will be
deployed at the field-level from February 6-16, 2026 (total 11 days) to
provide assistance to the local civil administration for holding the upcoming
polls and referendum in a free, fair, impartial and peaceful manner.
Besides, the air personnel will jointly perform election duties in 35
upazilas of 21 districts with the Bangladesh Army as a striking force, the
ISPR mentioned.
Besides, the required numbers of helicopters, transport aircraft and UAV
(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) of the Air Force have been deployed round-the-clock
to directly support the election process.
In the meeting, Assistant Chiefs of Air Staff, senior officers of the Air
Force Headquarters and various bases were also present there, the ISPR added.
