THAKURGAON, Feb 3,2026 (BSS) – BNP’s secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir today said the independence of 1971 is our existence and we will lost our existence if it is obliterated.

“The independence of 1971 is our existence ... but a vested quarter wants to erase it”, he said while  while addressing in a electoral campaign here this noon.

Thakurgaon municipality Ward-6 unit of BNP organized the programme.

Fakhrul  also a candidate of ‘sheaf of paddy’ of Thakurgaon-1 constituency, said the 71 has given us a  new country and a new land, adding that even huge opportunities have opened in-front of us and it gives us opportunity to stay alive----to go forward and also  to build a beautiful future of our kids that is very much essential.

But unfortunately, he said,  a group wants to keep 71 lag behind, as it  is our core existence and we will go forward with this spirit.

 The BNP leader said a particular quarter is confusing the people by abusing religion, false propaganda is being carried out and it may difficult for us in taking decision in putting voting rights. 
Talking about the national polls, Mirza Fakhrul said the election usually takes place in every five years but vote is a ‘trust’ and it [vote] should not be left wasted. “It is an important thing that those who will be voted by the people would protect the peoples trust appropriately”, he told the electoral rally.

District BNP leaders, activists and local residence were also present on the occasion.
