DHAKA, Feb 2, 2026 (BSS) - Violations of the electoral code of conduct have been reported in 257 electoral areas among the 300 constituencies across the country ahead of the 13th Jatiya Sangsad election.
According to Election Commission (EC) sources, the executive magistrates have so far filed 176 cases and imposed fine amounting to TK 18,26,250 against individuals for breaching the electoral code of conduct.
Director (Operations) of the National Identity Registration Wing and Member Secretary of the Central Coordination Committee for the referendum and the 13th Jatiya Sangsad Election Md Saiful Islam told BSS today.
He said the total number of incidents of violation of the code of conduct stood at 275.
Md Saiful Islam added that 176 cases were filed centring these incidents while TK 18,26,250 realised between January 8 and February 1 as part of the Election Commission’s efforts to ensure a free and fair electoral process.
