No attempts of seizing polling station go unpunished: Home Adviser

MYMENSINGH, Feb 02, 2026 (BSS)- Home Adviser Lieutenant General (Rtd) Md Jahangir Alam Chowdhury has said none would be allowed to seize polling centre anywhere in the country.

“None will be given any concession if any polling centre is seized by any party,” he said in a meeting on law and order at Mymensingh City Corporation conference room here this afternoon. 

The Home Adviser said the security measures have taken across the country in such a way that none can take control of the polling booths.

To make sure a peaceful election, he said law enforcers will perform their duties with body-worn cameras at the polling stations alongside bringing all the polling centres under CCTV coverage. 

Drone alongside the Surakhya App will also be used to make the security foolproof, he said.

“So, the next general election will be held across the country peacefully,” he said.

About the deadly clash in Jhenaigati in Sherpur district, Jahangir said the incident is regretful. Instruction has been given to all to take precautionary measures to stop any such incident in future.

On apprehension of target-attacks on journalists, the Home Adviser said there is no such apprehension anywhere in country.

The Home Adviser said that the drive against illegal firearms has been intensified and the state of recovery is good.
