GAIBANDHA, Feb 2, 2026 (BSS) – A daylong training for presiding officers of the forthcoming parliamentary election, scheduled for February 12, was held this afternoon at the auditorium of Palashbari Upazila Parishad.
The training was arranged by the Upazila Election Office in cooperation with the Upazila Administration, following directives from the Bangladesh Election Commission.
Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Mohammad Masudur Rahman Mollah and Police Superintendent Muhammad Jashim Uddin conducted the training as resource persons.
Earlier, an inaugural session was held with District Election Officer Md Shahidul Islam in the chair. DC Masudur Rahman Mollah formally inaugurated the training as chief guest, while Police Superintendent Muhammad Jashim Uddin spoke as special guest.
In their speeches, both officials said that the district and police administrations, along with other government entities, are fully committed to ensuring a free, fair, peaceful, credible, transparent, and neutral parliamentary election.
DC Masudur Rahman Mollah urged the assigned officers to perform their election duties in the district with utmost sincerity and honesty, without any bias or negligence. He also emphasized the need for vigilance on the Election Day so that voters can cast their ballots peacefully and without any disruption.
A total of 87 presiding officers participated in the daylong training.
