Manju predicts massive turnout at Tarique Rahman's Khulna rally

KHULNA, Feb 1, 2026 (BSS) - BNP-nominated candidate for Khulna-2 constituency and former Member of Parliament (MP) Nazrul Islam Manju on Sunday said more than 10 lakh people are expected to attend the BNP's election rally to be addressed by party Chairman Tarique Rahman on Monday at Prabhati School ground in Khalishpur, bringing together supporters from three districts of the Khulna division.

Manju said the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election is significant for various reasons, adding that people want to cast their votes freely and without any obstruction.

The former lawmaker made the remarks while distributing leaflets and carrying out mass contact campaigns in Gallamari Bridge areas on both sides, DC Office, Court Mor, Stadium Market, KCC Market, Registry Office, Chashma Market and Shankha Market today.

"The election outcome will be better than previous ones. There will be no vote-riggers and no one to obstruct the voting process. It will be a barrier-free election and people will participate freely," he said.

Nazrul Islam Manju said BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman will arrive in Khulna on Monday with a message of development for the people and will present a new vision for the city. 

"BNP has taken preparations to build a new Khulna by overcoming the stagnation of this industrial port city," he added.

Calling upon voters to support the 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol, Manju urged people to vote for BNP candidates to help build a new Bangladesh and give Khulna, the divisional city, a new shape.

Professor Arifuzzaman Apu, Mahbub Hasan Piaru, Ekramul Haque Helal, Mujibur Rahman Fayez, Niaz Ahmed Tuhin, Kamran Hasan, Advocate Mashiur Rahman Nannu, Advocate Mujibur Rahman, Shamsuzzaman Chanchal, Shamsher Ali Mintoo, along with leaders and activists of BNP's thana, ward and affiliated organisations, and local residents were present, among others, during the campaign.
