DHAKA, Feb 1, 2026 (BSS)-  Adviser to the BNP Chairman and Chief Coordinator of the BNP Election Steering Committee for Dhaka-17 constituency Abdus Salam today said that Tarique Rahman remains at the peak of popularity and the voters  of Dhaka-17 constituency are also still in his favor.

He said, “BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman is traveling across the country, including Dhaka city, for the election campaign. Wherever he goes, crowds of people are seen. 

Abdus Salam made the remarks at a road show while campaigning for Tarique Rahman in Dhaka-17 constituency.

The Chief Coordinator of BNP's Election Steering Committee said that those who have no standing among the people, who did not get votes in the past and will not in the future also, are making irrelevant statements against BNP out of fear of election debacle.

Pointing out that the people of this country have always chosen the right leadership during times of crisis, the BNP leader said adding “During the country's crisis, the people made Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman their leader. He did not come to power by force in any way; rather, he came to state power with public support and changed the country's destiny,” Salam added.

He continued as saying  “When there was no democracy in the country, the people brought Begum Khaleda Zia to power and she restored democracy in the country.”

Highlighting the situation in various areas of Dhaka-17 constituency, Abdus Salam said that anyone would be astonished to see the condition of the roads in the areas of Bhashantek and Korail. He commented that such a condition in the capital city is lamentable.
