CUMILLA, Jan 29, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Chairperson’s Adviser and party’s candidate for Cumilla-6 constituency Monirul Haque Chowdhury today hoped BNP will win the February 12 national election and its Chairman Tarique Rahman will be the next Prime Minister.
“With the mandate of the people, BNP will form the government under the leadership of Tarique Rahman. Under Tarique Rahman’s leadership, this country will never lose its way. The country is safe in his hands,” he said.
He made these remarks while addressing a public gathering during the election campaign this afternoon at the Kamalapur Girls’ High School ground in Kalirbazar union of Sadar Upazila.
Monirul Haque said a country cannot function without an elected government. The country is now moving toward elections as no conspiracy will be able to thwart it, he added.
He said that over the past 16 years, there have been no development activities in this region. The BNP nominee sought vote for ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ in the upcoming national election for the development of the area.
Cumilla South District BNP Senior Vice President Amiruzzaman Bhuiyan, District BNP member Siddiqur Rahman, Adarsha Sadar Upazila BNP President Rezaul Qayyum, General Secretary Shafiul Alam Raihan, Organizing Secretary Omar Faruk, founding organizer of District Chhatra Dal Dr. Shah Mohammad Selim, District Tanti Dal General Secretary Mahmudur Rahman Peter were present, among others.
Speakers discussed various infrastructural problems of Kalirbazar union. Monirul Haque Chowdhury assured that all pressing issues in the area would be resolved gradually.
