DHAKA, Jan 28, 2026 (BSS) - A road show and leaflet distribution were arranged in the Dhaka-17 constituency in favor of BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman who is vying for the parliamentary seat.
Bangladesh Nationalist Cultural Forum organized the event. Cultural Forum president Humayun Kabir Bepari chaired the event while Convener of the Dhaka-17 Media Committee and eminent journalist leader Mostafa Kamal Majumdar spoke as the chief guest.
The organization's Co-Presidents Asaduzzaman Babu, Kalam Foyezee, Maksudur Rahman, Shah Alam Jomaddar, Manjur Rahman, Haseem Chowdhury, Aminul Haque, Shoaib Koraishi, Mahidul Mamun, Shariful Islam, Shaheen, and other leaders, took part in the event.
In his speech, Mostafa Kamal Majumdar said, “The paddy sheaf is the symbol of this country's independence and sovereignty. Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman is the founder of BNP. He protected Bangladesh's independence and sovereignty and initiated the development trajectory.”
“You are residents of Tarique Rahman's constituency. I request everyone to strengthen his hand by voting for the paddy sheaf. If you vote for the paddy sheaf, corruption will decrease in the country, and the trajectory of development will be re-established,” he added.
He further said, “If Tarique Rahman is elected, oppression and injustice will decrease in this area. No one will fall victim to extortion and injustice anymore. Most importantly, if you vote for Tarique Rahman, the country's independence and sovereignty will remain intact, and no conspiracy by religious traders and anti-liberation forces will succeed.”
After the road show held in front of Titumir College, an election procession was taken out.
The procession started from the Mohakhali Wireless Gate, passed through the field of Korail slum, traversed various lanes, and distributed leaflets. Some members of the Cultural Forum engaged in intimate discussions with some residents. Almost all of the slum dwellers pledged to vote for the paddy sheaf.
