BAGERHAT, Jan 28, 2026 (BSS) - Chila Union BNP and its affiliated organizations have held an election rally at the Bouddhamari Bazar ground of Mongla Upazila on Tuesday, seeking votes for the party’s electoral symbol, Sheaf of Paddy.

BNP-nominated candidate for the Bagerhat-3 (Rampal-Mongla) constituency Lion Dr. Sheikh Faridul Islam attended the programme as the chief guest with Mongla Upazila BNP President Abdul Mannan Howlader in the chair.

Hundreds of BNP supporters attended the rally.

Lion Dr. Sheikh Faridul Islam said the people of the area had long been deprived of their voting rights and democratic entitlements. He said the sheaf of paddy is not merely an election symbol but a representation of democracy, rights and development. 

He pledged to transform Mongla and Rampal into a modern area free from terrorism, drugs and unemployment if elected.

He further said the overwhelming response and affection from the people indicated that the time for change had arrived and that a people's government would be established through the people's votes.

Mongla Municipality BNP President Alhaj Zulfikar Ali, Mongla Upazila BNP General Secretary Abu Hossain Poni and Mongla Municipality BNP General Secretary Mahabubur Rahman Manik addressed the gathering as special guests.
