DHAKA, Jan 28, 2026 (BSS) - The Chief of Army Staff General Waker-Uz-Zaman today put special emphasis on performing forces' duties through professionalism, impartiality, discipline, patience and citizen-friendly behavior.
The army chief came up with the directives during separate view-exchange- meetings while visiting Patuakhali and Khulna ahead of the upcoming 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) polls and Referendum slated for February 12 next, said a release of the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate.
During the visits, the Army Chief evaluated the overall law and order situation and inspected the army personnel deployed under the 'In Aid to the Civil Power' centering the next general elections along with the referendum 2026.
He observed the activities of the deployed army personnel on the spot and provided necessary directions and exchanged views with the civilian administration.
He also exchanged views with officials of the sub-three levels of military, divisional and district administration and various law enforcement agencies at the Deputy Commissioner's (DC's) conference room in Patuakhali.
Subsequently, a similar view-exchange-meeting was held at the Khulna Divisional Commissioner's Office, where inter-institutional coordination and overall security management were discussed to ensure a peaceful, impartial and fair conduct of the upcoming JS polls.
During the visit to Patuakhali and Khulna, the General Officer Commanding (GOC), Training and Doctrine Command, GOC, 55 Infantry Division and Jashore Area Commander, GOC, 7 Infantry Division and Barishal Area Commander, among others, were present there, the ISPR added.
Besides, senior military officers from the Army Headquarters, Barishal and Jashore areas, as well as divisional commissioners, senior officers from the civil administration and law enforcement agencies, and various media outlets were present, among others.
