JHENAIDAH, Jan 27, 2026 (BSS) - A day-long training programme for election officials was held today in Kotchandpur upazila of the district in preparation for the upcoming national parliament elections and referendum.

The training, organized by the Election Training Institute, took place at the auditorium of Kotchandpur Government Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain College at 10:30am. A total of 804 election officials participated in the programme.

Deputy Commissioner and District Returning Officer Abdullah Al Masud attended the workshop as the chief guest, while District Election Officer Abul Hossain presided over the event.

Superintendent of Police Mahfuz Afzal, Upazila Nirbahi Officer Enamul Hasan, and other officials from the election office were also present.

Among the participants were 57 presiding officers, 249 assistant presiding officers and 498 polling officers from Kotchandpur upazila.

During the training, participants were given detailed instructions on their duties on polling day, maintaining law and order, ballot paper management, and relevant election laws and regulations.
