NCP begins road march in Ctg region

CHATTOGRAM, Jan 26, 2026 (BSS) - National Citizen Party (NCP) formally began its election road march in Chattogram by offering prayers at the grave of juvenile martyr Md Ishmamul Haque Chowdhury.

NCP central and local leaders officially announced the party’s scheduled road march after offering ziarat at the martyr’s grave in Darjipara village under Lohagara upazila of the district this morning.

NCP Spokesperson and Chairman of the NCP Election Conducting Committee Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan inaugurated and led the road march.

Briefing journalists, Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan said the dream for which youths like Ishmamul sacrificed their lives would be realized through the upcoming election.

He said the desired reforms, in line with the aspirations of the July martyrs, would be implemented if “Yes” secures victory in the upcoming referendum.

He said, “We have chosen to officially launch our road march by offering prayers at the grave of a July martyr, reaffirming our commitment to the enduring spirit of the July Uprising.”

Central Convenor of Jatiya Juba Shakti, the youth wing of NCP, Tariqul Islam; Chattogram Divisional Organizing Secretary of NCP, Suja Uddin; and Chattogram Regional Patron and NCP-nominated candidate for Chattogram-8 constituency (Chandgaon–Boalkhali), Md Zobairul Hasan Arif, were present at the event.

Lohagara upazila leaders and workers of NCP, led by the chief coordinator of the Upazila unit, greeted central NCP leader Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan with a bouquet.

NCP leaders said the party has launched an 11-day road march across the country aimed at drumming up support for reforms, good governance, and the protection of the country’s independence and sovereignty, as well as ensuring a ‘Yes’ victory in the upcoming referendum, in addition to seeking votes for NCP-nominated candidates.

The NCP team later visited Boalkhali upazila of the Chattogram-8 constituency to carry out electioneering in favor of NCP candidate Md Zobairul Hasan Arif.
