KHULNA, Jan 24, 2026 (BSS) - BNP candidate for the Khulna-4 constituency covering Rupsha, Terokhada, and Dighalia and the party's Central Information Affairs Secretary, Azizul Bari Helal unveiled a 74-point election manifesto today.
Helal announced the manifesto at around 11:00 am at his residence in Aichgati village of Rupsha upazila.
He pledged that if elected as Member of Parliament, he would construct a second bridge over the Bhairab River to directly connect Khulna city with Rupsha, Terokhada, and Dighalia upazilas.
He also promised to complete the ongoing Nagarghat and Railgate bridge projects, prevent river erosion of the Ataie and Bhairab rivers, and construct sustainable embankments.
Other key commitments include establishing small and cottage industries in abandoned jute godowns, making waterlogged lands cultivable through proper drainage, renovating the Deura ferry terminal, nationalising Alhaj Sarwar Khan Degree College, renovating playgrounds, and promoting youth engagement in sports.
He also vowed to restart Star Jute Mill and set up a police outpost in risk-prone areas of Terokhada.
The manifesto further includes introducing ferry services at Bhattacharya (Hardboard) terminal, ensuring fair wages for workers, modernising Hajigaon Mini Stadium, enlisting Kabi Krishnachandra Institute under the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, and creating employment through new industrial projects.
BNP Central Committee member Khan Rabiul Islam Rabi, district BNP joint conveners Molla Khairul Islam and GM Kamruzzaman Tuku, Professor Monirul Haque Babul, Sheikh Abdur Rashid, and other party leaders attended the event.
