Elected govt to be transparent, accountable: Amir Khasru

CHATTOGRAMM, Jan 23, 2026 (BSS) - BNP's candidate for the Chattogram-11 constituency in the 13th National Parliament election Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury expressed his happiness and joy as people will finally have the opportunity to vote on February 12 after 15 years. 

He emphasized the importance of transparency and accountability in the elected government, stating that democracy has returned to Bangladesh, giving people a sense of ownership. He highlighted the freedom and security that democracy brings, allowing people to live their lives without fear. 

The senior BNP leader made the remarks while speaking at street meetings, held in various areas of Patenga, Chattogram this afternoon.

A large number of leaders, activists, common people, women, and youth participated in the mass meetings. The BNP senior leader said that people suffered during the previous government's tenure, with an increase in the cost of living and goods, and a lack of security.

He hoped that the elected government would restore normalcy and civil rights.

 He said Sheikh Hasina attempted vote engineering but where is she now? We should learn from her example, he said, adding that false propaganda and vote engineering will not lead anyone to success. 

Those who will try to disrupt the upcoming election will face challenges, he added.

BNP leaders Dr. Nurul Afsar, Md. Ismail, Abdus Sattar, ward BNP convener Mohammad Nazim Uddin, member secretary Md. Azam were present at the event, among others.
