BNP candidates begin election campaign in Chapainawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, Jan 23, 2026 (BSS) - Election campaigning of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidates began on Thursday in all three parliamentary constituencies of the district.

In Chapainawabganj-1 constituency, BNP-nominated candidate, former Member of Parliament and freedom fighter Professor Md Shahjahan Miah-also an adviser to the BNP chairman-formally started election campaign from Mobarakpur union. 

Meanwhile, in Chapainawabganj-2 constituency, former MP and BNP's Industry and Commerce Affairs Co-Secretary-General Alhaj Mohammed Aminul Islam launched his election campaign in the afternoon. He began the campaign with a procession at the bus stand intersection of Nachol Municipality.

In Chapainawabganj-3 constituency (Chapainawabganj Sadar), former MP and adviser to the BNP chairman Md Harunur Rashid started his formal campaign through a public meeting on Thursday afternoon at the Krishna Gobindapur High School ground in Ranihati union of Sadar upazila.

Speaking at their respective campaign events, the three BNP candidates expressed confidence, saying they were "100 percent optimistic" about securing victory in the upcoming election. 

They urged voters to cast their ballots for the party's symbol, the 'Sheaf of Paddy', promising development in education, healthcare, communication systems, and the protection of the fundamental rights of local residents.
