DHAKA, Jan 22, 2026 (BSS) – The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) today announced five key initiatives ahead of the 13th National Parliamentary Election to engage citizens in shaping the country’s future.
The announcement was made at a press conference at the BNP central election office in capital' Gulshan area by Dr Mahdi Amin, spokesperson of the party’s Central Election Steering Committee and adviser to BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman.
BNP Central Election Steering Committee member Jubayer Babu was also present.
Dr Mahdi Amin said the initiatives aim to gather public opinion on BNP policies and ensure participation from all sections of society in national development.
The first initiative, 'Give Advice to Tarique Rahman', invites citizens nationwide to share suggestions through a special QR code displayed on posters and danglers.
Submitted opinions will be considered by Tarique Rahman in policy and development planning.
The second initiative, 'Letter to Tarique Rahman', encourages people to submit letters, emails, or online feedback to convey their expectations, concerns, and proposals directly to the BNP chairman.
The third initiative, 'Match My Policy', is a user-friendly web application designed to collect public opinions on BNP policies and plans.
Over 300,000 people across the country have already participated, focusing on youth engagement, policy discussions and post-July national development.
The fourth initiative, 'The Plan: Youth Policy Talk with Tarique Rahman'.
A programme of this initiative was arranged in Sylhet today as Tarique Rahman is currently visiting there.
Tarique Rahman interacted with 127 students from schools, colleges, madrasahs, medical colleges, polytechnics, engineering colleges and universities, discussing employment, education, agriculture, health, environment, ICT and women’s empowerment.
BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir and Dr Zubaida Rahman, wife of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman, also attended the session.
The fifth initiative, 'BNP’s Eight Leaflets', presents the party’s policies and Tarique Rahman’s vision.
A recent event showcased these leaflets, attended by diplomats from nearly all foreign missions, who reviewed BNP’s key policy proposals.
Dr. Mahdi Amin said that the BNP-party began its reform journey in 2016 through
Vision-2030, followed by the 27-point framework for state structure reform and the final '31-Point Outline for Structural Reforms in Bangladesh' published in 2023.
Speaking about the party’s policies, he said, “In line with this vision, our leader has a clear and comprehensive roadmap for every sector.”
Mahdi Amin added, “BNP is a political party that has always pursued politics based on principles while mobilising its maximum strength in movements and struggles."
The party has fought for national reforms and citizens’ rights, faced enforced disappearance, killings and oppression, and formulated plans for nation-building.”
He expressed his hope that, BNP’s close engagement with the people and its understanding of public aspirations will ensure that the citizens will vote for the party’s 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol in the upcoming election securing BNP’s victory.
