RAJSHAHI, Jan 22, 2026 (BSS)- Rajshahi is bustling with election campaigns as candidates have officially started their campaigns across the six parliamentary constituencies in the district for the 13th National Parliament election.

In Rajshahi-2 (Sadar) constituency, BNP-nominated candidate Mijanur Rahman Minu launched his campaign this noon with a prayer in Upashahar area. After the prayers, Minu began campaign for votes under the party’s symbol Sheaf of Paddy.

He called on residents to cast their votes for the development of Rajshahi and held mass rallies in various parts of the city.

As part of this, Prof Abul Kalam Azad, the candidate of the Scales symbol in the Rajshahi-3 (Paba–Mohanpur) constituency, carried out extensive mass outreach and campaign activities in various unions of the constituency.

From the early hours of the morning, he directly interacted with local residents at Nawhata Bazaar in Paba Upazila and in neighborhood areas, marketplaces, and public gathering spots of the Kamarpara area in Mohanpur Upazila.

BNP’s heavyweight candidate Major General (Retd) Sharif Uddin began his election campaign this morning and reached the voters in general in different parts of his Rajshahi-1 (Godagari-Tanore) constituency.

As the candidate entered different localities, a festive atmosphere was observed among the general public. Men and women, young and old alike spontaneously came forward to speak with him.

He urged all voters to go to the polling centers on February 12 and cast their votes for the symbol Sheaf of Paddy, stating that this election offers the people an opportunity to reclaim their rightful rights and restore democracy.
Sharif Uddin also said that in recent years, many leaders and activists of BNP have faced persecution, cases, imprisonment, and repression due to political vendettas.

Despite all obstacles and repression, they have continued to stand by the people. Now, he said, the time has come to build a just and humane Bangladesh.

The presence of local leaders, activists, and supporters participating in the campaign created a lively atmosphere throughout the area.

Earlier, Dr Muhammad Jahangir, nominated by the Jamaat-e-Islami for Rajshahi-2 constituency, and campaigning under the Dari Palla symbol, started his official campaign with a prayer in Laxmipur area.

He later campaigned in multiple areas, distributing leaflets and urging people to vote for a corruption-free Bangladesh.
