RANGAMATI, Jan 22, 2026 (BSS) - BNP Central Committee Joint Secretary for Religious Affairs and candidate for Rangamati parliamentary constituency-299, Dipen Dewan officially launched his election campaign on Thursday by paying tribute to Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman.
Dipen Dewan, accompanied by district BNP leaders and members of affiliated organizations, laid wreaths at the memorial in Rangunia, the first tomb of the martyred president.
Speaking at the event, Dewan emphasized the significance of the upcoming elections, stating, “The upcoming elections are very important for all of us. The people are with BNP, and victory is assured.”
Also present at the ceremony were BNP Central Committee Tribal Affairs Secretary Manish Dewan, District BNP President Dipan Talukder Dipu, Vice President and Election Steering Committee Convener Md. Saiful Islam Bhutto, District BNP General Secretary Ed. Mamunur Rashid Mamun, Joint Secretary Saiful Islam Panir, and Organizing Secretary Md. Saiful Islam Shakil.
Representatives from local BNP units, including Municipal BNP President Md. Shafiul Azam, General Secretary Mahbubul Baset Apu, District Jubo Dal President Md. Nurunnabi, General Secretary Abu Sadat Md. Sayem, District Volunteer Party Convener Md. Jahangir Alam Talukder, and District Chhatra Dal President Md. Faruk Ahmed Sabbir, were also in attendance.
The campaign marks the beginning of BNP’s efforts to secure the Rangamati constituency in the upcoming national elections.
