KHULNA, Jan 18, 2026 (BSS) - Deputy Commissioner of Khulna A. S. M. Jamshed Khondker today directed the government officials to give priority to the election issues and also promoting the referendum sincerely. 

He also emphasized ensuring the supply of safe drinking water for inmates in jails, as well as arrangements for daily sports, reading books, and recreational activities.

He made the remarks while presiding over the monthly meeting of the Khulna District Development Coordination Committee held  at the conference room of the District Administration.

Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Md Mizanur Rahman informed the meeting that, in line with the directives of the health department, doctors are raising awareness about the referendum while providing medical treatment to patients.

Representatives of the Islamic Foundation said that on Fridays, imams in all mosques are making worshippers aware of the referendum through sermons, and leaflets are being distributed after prayers.

Among others, Additional District Magistrate Nurul Hai Mohammad Anas, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Md Akhtar Hossain, among others, were present.
